According toSIMATS, continuous assessment—including assignments, tests, and semester-long evaluations—accounts for 70% of your grade, while the end-semester exam contributes around 30%.
The idea is simple. Students have to perform consistently throughout the semester to score well. It is not enough to perform well in one exam. The practical impact is even bigger. At universities where finals count for 60% or more, a strong last-minute effort can salvage a weak semester. At Saveetha, it’s different. Nearly 70% of your grade is decided before finals. You can’t rely on a single exam to make up a semester if you have low grades in internal assessments.
If your CGPA isn’t where you want it to be, don’t just prepare harder for finals. Focus on consistently scoring well in assessments, quizzes and internal assessments. Those marks carry more than twice the weight of your final exam, making them the biggest factor in your semester result.
The arrear rule that doesn’t let you wait it out
As per Saveetha’s academic regulations, if you fail a course, you must register and reappear for the exam every time it’s offered until you pass.You can’t skip an exam cycle and plan to clear the arrear later at your convenience. Once a course becomes an arrear, registering for every available attempt is mandatory, not optional.
Revaluation is available, but it comes with a few important limitations. You can apply only to theory papers, not practical or project work. It can be requested only for a limited number of subjects at a time. You can’t apply for revaluation of your entire result at once. The applicable fee, timeline, and subject limits depend on your campus. Always confirm the latest fee, timeline, and process with your examination section before applying.
